Congress president Mallikarjun Haq on Wednesday accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of insulting the framer of the Constitution, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. He said Amit Shah had insulted Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. He also attacked the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the Prime Minister should take immediate action if anyone speaks anything against Babasaheb Ambedkar.
The Congress president further said, “These people do not believe in the Constitution.” He also claimed that Prime Minister Modi’s silence showed that he agreed with Amit Shah’s statement. “If Prime Minister Modi respects Babasaheb Ambedkar, then he should sack Amit Shah from the cabinet today,” he said.
‘PM Modi is defending his statement’
The Congress president also said that PM Modi should tell Amit Shah that his remarks were wrong, but PM Modi defended his remarks. Haq accused the BJP of always insulting Dalits and their heroes and ignoring the Constitution.

Rijiju defends Amit Shah’s statement
Rijiju said: “The Congress party did not give him Bharat Ratna for many years and at the same time, as part of the conspiracy, it insulted Baba Saheb and defeated him in the 1952 elections. He. Thereafter, the Congress defeated Ambedkar in the by-elections held in Vidarbha and if the Congress had not defeated him, Baba Saheb would have been a member of the Congress even after 1952.” Rijiju further said that the opposition distorted the remarks of the Home Minister. “A short clip of Amit Shah’s speech in the Rajya Sabha has been circulated in which his remarks have been distorted. This is wrong and I condemn it,” Rijiju said.
