Big negligence of the officials has come to light in Hamirpur district of UP, where compensation of more than Rs 15 lakh was received for the crop damaged due to hailstorm but it was transferred to the accounts of people of other districts. Regarding this, SDM says that his ID was hacked. The hacker sent the money from here to there.

In fact, the amount received by 750 farmers of Hamirpur as government compensation was sent to the accounts of people of Maharajganj and Gorakhpur. SDM Sadar himself has admitted that about Rs 15.50 lakh was transferred to other accounts.

SDM Sadar Pawan Prakash Pathak says that miscreants have created a mess by hacking his ID. On August 4, he has filed a case in the cyber police station against an unknown person under various sections including cheating, breach of trust, causing hurt and cheating through communication medium. However, yesterday the cyber police station in-charge had said that no such case has been registered, hence it is feared that an attempt is being made to hide something.

SDM of Hamirpur Sadar has told that in order to distribute grants to hail affected farmers, the accountants had fed their details online through their login ID. After being accepted at all levels, the payment was sent online to the farmers’ account, but due to an error during feeding, the payment was returned.

Rs 15.50 lakh reached wrong accounts

According to the official, after the payment was returned, the offline data was rectified and sent. In the accounts of many farmers mentioned in the return list, the account numbers changed to an unknown extent. This mess was done by hacking the SDM’s ID. It has come to light that most of the money went into accounts operated in Maharajganj and Gorakhpur. SDM Sadar said that the amount of Rs 15.50 lakh of about 750 farmers has reached wrong accounts, which is being investigated.

Accountant suspended

It is known that ADM Finance and Revenue Vijay Shankar Tiwari had sent a letter to the SDM and Tehsildar of Sadar and Maudaha Tehsil on July 1, instructing them to verify the amount sent from the treasury to the bank accounts of the farmers affected by the hailstorm. After which, when the money of 11 farmers resident of Pandhari village of Sumerpur area reached other accounts, accountant Pradeep Yadav was suspended considering him prima facie guilty. Along with this, details of such farmers were sought from the SDM and Tehsildar.

There was hailstorm in February last year

The hailstorm that occurred in the district on February 20 and March 3, 2023 had devastated the farmers of Sadar and Maudaha tehsils. There was 90 percent damage to crops in 53 villages of Sadar and Maudaha areas. The farmers neither received anything from the insurance company nor did the agricultural subsidy amount reach their accounts.

Even before this, the amount of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was also sent to the accounts of others, in which FIR was registered against many officers and many officers were suspended.
