Hamas’s armed wing released a video on Saturday showing an Israel-American mortgage alive, criticizing the Israeli government for failing to secure his release.
The Israeli campaign group The Hostels and Missing Familys Forum recognized him as a military aden Alexander in an elite infantry unit on the Gaza border, when he was abducted by Palestinian militants during the October 7 attack on Israel.
AFP was unable to determine when the video was filmed.
Hamas’s armed wing, Azedin al-Kasam Brigades published a clip of more than three minutes, showing the hostage sitting in a small, attached place.
In the video, he says that he wants to return home to celebrate the holidays.
Israel is currently marking the Passover, the holiday that recalls the Bible liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
Alexander, who was 21 years old in captivity, was born in Tel Aviv and grew up in the US state of New Jersey, returning to Israel after high school to join the army.
Alexander’s family said in a statement issued by the forum, “As we start holiday evening in the USA, our family in Israel is preparing to sit around the cedar table.”
“Our aden, a lone soldier who migrated to Israel and admitted to the Golani Brigade to protect the country and its citizens, is still being taken captive by Hamas.
“When you sit to mark Passen, remember that it is not a holiday of freedom unless Aden and other hostages are not homes,” the family said.
The family did not authorize the media to broadcast the footage.
Alexander appears to be speaking under Dus in the video, which consistently dominates hands as he criticizes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government for failing to secure his release.
Defense Minister Israel Katj announced that Israel’s army seized the new Morg Axis between Rafa and Khan Younis’s southern cities.
Katz also underlined the plan to expand Israel’s offensive in most parts of the Gaza Strip.
In a separate statement on Saturday, Hamas said that Israeli’s Gaza operations put not only the Palestinian citizens but also the remaining hostages.
Hamas said that aggressive not only kills “defenseless citizens, but also makes the fate of the prisoners (hostages) of the occupation uncertain.
The attack on Israel during October 7, 2023 triggers the war in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian militants took 251 horses.
Twenty -eight hostage remains in captivity, including 34, which the Israeli army says they have died.
During a recent ceasefire ending on March 18, when Israel resumed airstrikes on Gaza, terrorists released 33 hostages, out of eight bodies.
