Gunshots muffled by firecrackers, this is how attackers murdered Baba Siddiqui

NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead in Mumbai. It is learned that five bullets were fired at Baba Siddiqui, three of which hit Baba Siddiqui. Baba Siddiqui was sitting in his office in Nirmal Nagar on Saturday night. When he came out of the office and sat in his car, amidst the sound of firecrackers, the assailants opened fire on him.

According to sources, Baba Siddiqui left the office between 9.15 and 9.20 minutes. He was setting off firecrackers near the office when suddenly three people got out of the car. All three attackers had handkerchiefs tied over their faces. Thereafter he shot at Baba Siddiqui. A bullet hit Baba Siddiqui in the chest. He collapsed as soon as he was shot. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital. After receiving the information, the police immediately rushed to the scene. The police have detained 2 suspects. Police said a third suspect would also be detained soon, with both detained suspects hailing from outside Maharashtra, one from Uttar Pradesh and one from Haryana. Another wanted suspect is at large.

After the incident, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reached Lilavati Hospital where he took stock of the incident. He said that we will crack down hard and criminals will not be spared. Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Ajit Pawar has canceled all plans for tomorrow.

Former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui resigned from the Congress this year after serving as a Congress MP for nearly 48 years. His decision surprised everyone. After resigning, he once said that he had a lot to say, but some people said it was better not to say some things.

Baba Siddiqui is a three-time MLA from Bandra West and former Minister of State (Food and Civil Supplies). He also served as Chairman, Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority, Mumbai Chapter. He entered politics as a student leader and was elected as a BMC councilor for the first time. Baba Siddiqui had won the Maharashtra Assembly elections from Bandra West in 1999, 2004 and 2009. However, in the 2014 assembly elections, he was badly defeated by Ashish Sheral, the president of Mumbai BJP.
