Katua, September 15: Officials said on Sunday that a gun battle broke out between terrorists and security forces in Nuknalibani area of Kathua district.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), citing a senior police officer, reported that the terrorists opened fire on a search party of security forces in the Nuknali area of Bani Katua.
The officer said as the troops approached the suspected location, they came under heavy fire.
He said two to three terrorists were believed to be trapped in the area.
Meanwhile, reinforcements have been rushed to the attack site to ensure that the terrorists do not escape.
The official added that the cordon was being tightened.
