An incident of molestation and sexual harassment of a 17-year-old tribal student took place at a boarding school in Dahod district of Gujarat. The victim is a 9th grader. The defendant was a teacher at the same school. After receiving the information, the police registered a case against the accused teacher and arrested him.
The incident took place at the tribal boarding school in Halta village, said the officer in charge of Dampur police station in Dahod district. The accused was identified as Kalpesh Baria. He called the student to his dormitory in Ashramshala hostel on Thursday night on the pretext of cooking.
The victim returned to her residence and started cooking when the accused grabbed her from behind. Thereafter, he began trying to make her a victim of his desires. During this time, the victim somehow called her sister and escaped from her clutches.
A police officer said that when his siblings who attended the same school learned about what had happened to him, they informed the father. The victim’s father filed a complaint against the accused teacher Kalpesh Baria on Friday and he was arrested soon after.
The police arrested the case under Section 75 (1) (i) of the Indian Judicial Code (physical contact and unwanted sexual advances), Section 8 (sexual harassment) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and Section 8 of the Indian Judiciary Code. The accused was registered. A case has been registered under the provisions of the Prevention of Atrocities Act under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Scheduled Tribes) Act.

Police started investigating after the girl’s body was found inside a school building in a village in Singwad taluka. The principal has since been found to be involved in the incident. SP Rajdeep Singh Jala told principal Govind Nat sexually harassed the girl. When he protested, his mouth was covered.
According to police, the principal attempted to sexually assault the girl while driving her to school. When the girl protested, he covered her mouth and nose to stop her from screaming, causing her to lose consciousness. The principal then locked him in the car and went to school.
At 5 pm that day, he took out the body and threw it behind the teaching building. Leave the girl’s schoolbag and slippers in her class. When the girl did not return home after school, her parents and relatives began searching and found her lying unconscious in the grounds behind the school building.
