The police demanded Rs 500 for passport verification.

It is understood that in 2014, the complainant Manoj’s sister-in-law Pooja had to travel to Nairobi to meet her husband. For this, there was a paper process of making a passport. Police verification was also done during this process, for which Pooja received a call from the Mallya police station on March 17, 2014. Pooja reached the police station and the police officer Amartbhai signed and then asked for a payment of Rs. 500. Pooja asked, if you have paid all the processes and fees, then why are you paying now?

The next day after that, police officer Amart Makwana called again and said if you want a passport, you have to pay Rs 500, otherwise the passport will not be made. But Pooja did not want to pay the bribe amount. So, Manoj complained to the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the ACB team set a trap and arrested the corrupt policeman.
