Marrying an American citizen or a green card holder is no longer a smooth sailing ride for the American dream for immigrants. Amid action on US President Donald Trump’s immigration, the US administration has adopted strict policies to shape the current immigration processes-an opposite opposite from the policies of the-Bide-era, when sometimes forgiven the interviews of immigrant husband and wife.

Managing Attorney Snehal Batra at the NPZ Law Group told TOI that applicants should be prepared with extensive documentation, including money transfer receipts, call logs, photos, joint accounts and even joint life insurance policies.
He said, “In addition, be prepared to answer questions about your spouse’s current employment, salary, education and any pre -marital relationship including any pre -marriage.”
Batra warned that if a green card is “denied for an alleged marriage fraud, then the removal of the husband or wife can be kept in the proceedings (exile).”
