2024-09-23 09:13:57 :The iconic Clock Tower (Ghantaghar) in the heart of Lal Chowk witnessed a grand ‘Music Sunday’ under the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative aimed at creating voter awareness among the public.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), J&K, PK Pole attended the event as the chief guest. Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, District Election Officer, Srinagar; Sapna Kotwal, Nodal Officer, Media; Qazi Akhter, Nodal Officer, SVEEP; Aamir Chaudhary, RO 22-Lal Chow; District Nodal Officer, SVEEP, The event was also attended by other relevant officials and a large number of members of the public.

Speaking at the rally, the CEO emphasized the importance of enthusiastic voter participation in strengthening our democracy. He urged the youth of Kashmir to become agents of change by educating others on the importance of exercising their fundamental right to vote. The DEO of Srinagar also shared his inspiring insights on the power of informed voting. He stressed the need for active participation in the electoral process.

‘Music Sunday’ witnessed a brilliant performance by Anas, a student of Amar Singh College, whose soulful melodies captivated the audience and set the tone for the day’s events. The captivating skit created by local theater group Dulquer Arts and Media Collective highlights the transformative role of every vote in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir.

The event also featured a variety of cultural and musical performances, including traditional Kashmiri folk songs, patriotic songs and contemporary music. Artists, performers and cultural groups took to the stage to convey messages about the importance of voter participation in creative and engaging ways. On the occasion, the CEO also made a massive pledge to the attendees to become responsible voters and spread the message of voter awareness across the community. The event provides an unforgettable platform to create voter awareness and motivate citizens to actively participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on September 25, 2024.
