BSP supremo Mayawati has reacted on the Waqf bill. He opposed the government’s move and also gave advice to it. He also targeted parties like Congress etc. Mayawati wrote on the social media platform And is politics of selfishness necessary? The government should fulfill its national duty.

Mayawati further said that under the guise of temple-mosque, caste, religion and communal frenzy, Congress and BJP etc. did a lot of politics and got a lot of electoral benefit from it, but now the reservation is ending in the country and poverty and unemployment are increasing. It is time to prove true patriotism by focusing on inflation, backwardness etc.

Also read- ‘The old Waqf law was the sin of Congress…’, BJP leader Mohsin Raza said on Waqf Bill.

According to Mayawati – In view of the manner in which doubts, apprehensions and objections have come forward on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill presented in the Parliament today, it is appropriate to send this bill to the Standing Committee of the House for better consideration. It would be better if the government does not act hastily on such sensitive issues.

Uproar in the House over Akhilesh’s statement

During the discussion in the Lok Sabha regarding the Waqf Act Amendment Bill, there was an uproar over the statement of SP MP Akhilesh Yadav. Angered by Akhilesh’s statement, Home Minister Amit Shah stood up from his seat and said that you cannot talk like this in the House. After which the speaker advised Akhilesh Yadav that he should not make any personal comments on the post.

In fact, while opposing the Waqf Bill brought by the government, Akhilesh Yadav said in the Lok Sabha that this bill is being introduced as part of a well-planned conspiracy. What is the justification for including non-Muslims in the Waqf Board? BJP is frustrated and disappointed. She is bringing this bill for appeasement and to benefit some of her friends. By doing this she is snatching away the rights of minorities.

Till now everything was calm but after this Akhilesh said such a thing about Speaker Om Birla that it created a ruckus. The SP MP said that he has heard in the lobby that some rights of you (the Speaker) are also being taken away. We will oppose it. What happened next, Home Minister Amit Shah stood up on this statement of Akhilesh.

Amit Shah said, ‘Akhilesh Yadav, you cannot talk like this in the House. You are not the protector of the Speaker’s rights. After which Speaker Om Birla told Akhilesh Yadav to always keep in mind that no comment should be made on the seat or the internal arrangement of the Parliament.

It is noteworthy that Union Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in the Lok Sabha on Thursday (8 August). During this, the opposition created a ruckus while opposing this bill. Congress MP KC Venugopal objected to the Waqf Bill and said that it is a violation of the right to religious freedom guaranteed by the Constitution. However, his objection was rejected outright by Union Minister and JDU leader Lalan Singh.
