Government Employee and Lambardar Suspended for Violating Model Code of Conduct in Kishtwar

In a move to ensure fair and transparent elections, the District Election Officer of Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, has suspended a government employee and a village-level official for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

The suspended individuals are:

  • Adil Irshad, a groundsman in the Zonal Education Planning Office, Paddar
  • Vikram Singh, a ‘lambardar’ (village-level official) from Panjdhara-Loharna

They were found involved in activities that amounted to a violation of the MCC guidelines on Saturday.

A discreet inquiry has been initiated against the accused, and the inquiry officers have been asked to submit their reports to the District Election Officer’s office within seven days.

Additionally, the tehsildar (revenue official) has been instructed to ensure that the suspended lambardar refrains from visiting the area concerned until the completion of the poll process. Irshad shall remain attached to the office of the Zonal Education Office, Drabshalla during the suspension period.

The District Election Officer’s swift action demonstrates the commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring a level playing field for all candidates.
