The Google Pixel 9 series was launched last month and rumors about its successor, the Pixel 10 series, have already started circulating. The alleged codenames of the Pixel 10 smartphones have been leaked. The Pixel 10 is said to be codenamed “Frankel,” while other upcoming phones have been given similar names. The leak suggests that there will be four models launched next year, continuing the trend of the Pixel 9 series.

Google Pixel 10 series codenames leaked

According to Android Headlines, Google’s Pixel 10 series will include four models: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, codenamed Frankel, Blazer, Mustang and Rango, which actually suggests that Google may launch a foldable smartphone again next year.

This development builds on the previously leaked Google Pixel 9a codename, which is the company’s only smartphone scheduled to launch before the Pixel 10 series next year. The Pixel 9a is expected to launch in May next year and may be codenamed “Tegu.” As in previous years, it will join the Pixel 9 series as the company’s latest smartphone lineup.

However, Google may change things up next year and offer an older chipset in its affordable Pixel 9a.

Codenames aside, it was previously reported that Google may have completed the design process for the Tensor G5 chipset that will power the Pixel 10 series. The chipset is speculated to have entered the “tapeout” phase, which essentially means that the Mountain View-based tech giant can now manufacture it at the foundry and test it thoroughly.

Unlike the previous four generations, which were based on Samsung Exynos chips, the Tensor G5 is said to be developed entirely in-house. It is speculated that it will be manufactured using TSMC’s second-generation 3nm node (N3E), further simplifying the initial N3B process.
