- First, before using Google Maps, check if the app in your smartphone is updated. If Google Maps in your smartphone is not updated, then it may be giving you wrong information. In this case, please update the map from time to time.
- The company continues to bring new features to Google Maps. In this case, you should stay updated on these features. Not only that, if you feel the map shows an unknown or narrow path, ask a local for help. Many times, route information on Google Maps doesn’t update. In this case, it may be risky for you.
- If you’re traveling to an unknown location using Google Maps, select the Street View option in the app before searching for directions. If you zoom into the map in Street View, you’ll know where roads are narrow and where roads are closed.
- To open Street View, click the icon above the compass in the map and select Street View from there. After that, search for where you want to go and open the directions. Before driving, check the directions shown in Google Maps by zooming from one location to another. By doing this you will learn the route and then follow the map to get to the right place. Many times, road closures or other information are not updated in Google Maps. You will get accurate information about your route in Street View.
