Google CEO Sundar Pichai reportedly remains steadfast in company’s commitment to innovation amid recent antitrust ruling Times of India.
Pichai expressed his confidence in Google’s legal position when asked about the issue during the earnings call. He also emphasized the company’s commitment to making its products easier and more widely available.
When asked about the remedies they were considering after the Department of Justice (DoJ) suggested that contracts related to Google search could be lost, the CEO said they would contest the ruling.
“First and foremost, we plan to vigorously defend these cases. Some of the early recommendations from agencies like the Department of Justice are far-reaching.” toy Pichai was quoted as saying.
“I think they could have unintended consequences, particularly for the dynamic tech industry and U.S. leadership. We plan to be actively engaged there,” he added.
Refusal to explain:
However, Pichai declined to explain his company’s plan of action, instead claiming that Google is “the best search engine.”
“Given the ongoing litigation, it would be inappropriate for me to speculate. But I would say, I step back and look, we have been, even as the court recognized, clearly, we have been successful because We have strong motivation and we will continue to do so,” Pichai said.
“People choose us because they think our products are the best, whether as consumers or partners. We have long worked hard to ensure our products are as easy as possible for users on all platforms Use. So all these approaches I think, all the things we’ve learned over the years will give us a solid foundation,” he added.
Previously, Pichai also expressed his dissent with the judge’s decision and outlined Google’s legal plan.
