The Bihar government will give Diwali gifts to government employees in the state. The good news for employees is that they will get their October salary before Diwali. The Uttar Pradesh government has also made a similar announcement, which will benefit 20 lakh employees in the state.
The Bihar government has issued an order to pay salaries to state employees from October 25. Principal Secretary, Finance Ministry Anand Kishore has issued instructions to all officials concerned in this regard.
Government employees will also get benefits in U.P.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has also ordered payment of salaries to two million employees in the state before Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj on October 30. Separately, Finance Minister Deepak Kumar has issued an order to pay salaries to state employees, aided educational institutions and local body employees before the due date.
The central government also gives away Diwali gifts
Previously, the central government also announced that it would increase employees’ living allowance (DA Hike) by 3%. After this increase, DA increased to 53%. In early March this year, the DA was raised by 4%.
Central employees currently get 50% DA and according to government sources, the government has increased it by 3% even before Diwali, which is a big gift. The benefits of the DA increase will be effective from July 1, 2024. This means Diwali for central employees becomes even more glamorous as their salaries are set to go up significantly.
