Goa police achieves huge success, seizes LSD worth lakhs of rupees in raids, one arrested

Giving information on the matter, an official from the Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) told PTI that this is the largest seizure of psychedelic drugs by the Goa police and the fifth drug seizure by the ANC in the past 12 years. sky. . The total amount of drugs seized so far has reached Rs 125 crore.

ANC officials further said the accused, who lives in Goa for the past few years, purchased large quantities of drugs through the dark web and supplied them to his clients, mostly from the party circuit in major cities in the country.

The ANC seized 1,825 LSD blotting papers worth Rs 9.8 million in the international market from Anjuna Beach village in North Goa district on Monday evening, the official said. The official did not reveal the identity of the defendant. He told reporters that the accused had been arrested.

According to the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Goa Police, more arrests are likely to be made in the case. Police said the arrests allowed the ANC to dismantle a pan-India network supplying LSD and other drugs.

LSD or lysergic acid diethylamide is a synthetic chemical drug classified as a hallucinogen. According to police, LSD abuse is quite common among teenagers and partygoers.

The ANC raided the defendant’s Anjuna apartment late on Monday night and seized drugs, the official said. During the course of the investigation, the ANC discovered that the defendants purchased large quantities of smuggled goods through courier companies, hid them in books and photo frames, and sent them to customers across the country through courier companies at the customer’s request.

The officer said the ANC had been conducting the operation since last month and was keeping a close eye on the defendant’s activities.
