Gave triple talaq to wife over phone to marry Pakistani woman, arrested after returning from Kuwait

A 35-year-old man from Rajasthan was detained by the police from Jaipur airport for giving triple talaq to his wife over phone from Kuwait. During investigation, it was revealed that the accused wanted to marry a Pakistani woman with whom he had earlier worked in Kuwait.

Giving information about this, Hanumangarh Deputy Superintendent of Police (SC/ST Cell) Ranveer Singh told PTI that the name of the accused is Rehman. Who had met Pakistani woman Mehwish on social media. Then both of them became friends and despite being married, Rehman married Mehwish in Saudi Arabia.

According to DSP Ranveer Singh, Mehwish had come to Churu in Rajasthan last month on a tourist visa and is currently living with Rehman’s parents at their house.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (SC/ST Cell) Ranveer Singh said that Farida Bano (29), resident of Bhadra, Hanumangarh, had filed a case against her husband Rehman last month accusing him of dowry harassment and divorce through triple talaq. Accused Rehman landed at Jaipur airport from Kuwait on Monday, when the police team from Hanumangarh took him into custody and they took him to the police station.

DSP said that after preliminary interrogation he was arrested the next day. He told that Rehman and Farida Bano were married in the year 2011 and now they are parents of a son and a daughter.

Rehman had gone to Kuwait to earn livelihood and was working in the transportation sector there. DSP Singh said that after Mehwish came to Churu, Farida Bano, who was living with her parents in Hanumangarh, has registered a case against Rehman.
