From Chaturthi Tithi to Chaturdashi Tithi of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha, Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated to worship Lord Ganesha. The installation of Shri Ganesh idol is done on Chaturthi and immersion is done on Chaturdashi. Collectively, these nine days are known as Ganesh Navratri. It is believed that by immersing the idol, the Lord reaches Mount Kailash again. The immersion experience is more wonderful than the installation experience. This day brings immeasurable auspicious rewards. Hence this day is also known as Anant Chaturdashi.

Ganesh Visarjan Muhurat on Anant Chaturdashi
There are three auspicious times for Ganpati immersion today. According to the Hindu calendar, the first bath will be from 6.04 am to 10.43 am. After this, the second Muhurta will last from 12:16 pm to 04:54 pm. While the third auspicious time is from 04:55 pm to 06:27 pm.

Importance of Anant Chaturdashi
Lord Vishnu is also worshipped on this day for salvation. For this, Anant Chaturdashi fast is observed. The thread symbolizing union is tied on the hands and untied during the fast. Do not consume salt during this process. People eat something sweet like vermicelli or kheer during Parayan. Reciting Gajendra Moksha on this day can relieve all the troubles in life.

How to do Ganpati Immersion?
It is mandatory to fast or eat only fruits from the morning on this day. Worship the idol installed in the house properly. Make sure to offer coconut, shami leaves and dub in the worship. Soak the idol afterwards. If the idol is small, place it on your lap or on your head.

While carrying the idol, always spread the intact leaves of the offering to Lord Ganesha inside the house. Do not keep belts, watches or wallets nearby. Carry and soak the idol barefoot. Do not mount or soak plastic idols or pictures. Clay statues are best. After soaking, put your hands together and pray to the elephant god Ganesha for happiness and prosperity.
