New Delhi, Nov 5 (PTI) State-owned GAIL (India) Ltd on Tuesday reported a 10 per cent rise in net profit in the September quarter after revenue growth in the gas transmission business and a turnaround in the petrochemicals business offset lower marketing margins.
Consolidated net profit $2,689.67 Crore for July-September FY25 $Revenue in the same period last year was Rs 2,442.18 crore, according to the company’s stock exchange filings.
India’s largest natural gas transmission and marketing company reports almost flat operating income $33,981.33 Crores.
Natural gas transmission business pre-tax income increased by 8% $1,402.81 Crores. Revenue from the petrochemical business was $146.19 Crore Losses Rs. $160.94 crore in the same period last year.
However, marketing revenue fell 27% $1,253.64 Crores.
The company said in a statement that natural gas delivery volume in the second quarter was 13.63 million standard cubic meters per day, and natural gas sales volume was 96.60mmscmd.
Sandeep Kumar Gupta, chairman and managing director of GAIL, said the petrochemicals business is expected to be reasonably profitable in the financial year 2024-25.
The company’s capital expenditures are $1,885 crore in the quarter, mainly on pipelines and petrochemicals, cumulative capex as on September 30 was $3,544 Crores.
