Road Transport and National Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said in a parliamentary reply that in the last five years, Rs 18 crore 24 lakh 5000 50 e-challans have been issued. The government earns billions of rupees from it. Tamil Nadu has been the state that has issued the largest number of e-tickets, issuing more than 50 million rupees in just 5 years.
Replying to a question in Parliament, Nitin Gadkari said that between January 1, 2019 and December 2023 alone, the government received around Rs 1,20,063,100,970,315 in revenue from e-challan. An amount of over Rs 755 crore has been recovered through e-challans of over Rs 5 crore issued in Tamil Nadu. Apart from this, Delhi also issued Rs 90 lakh 22,000 711 e-challans, from which the government earned Rs 571 crore 43 lakh 38,002 rupees.
