He said Pandit Nehru had written to all the chief ministers saying that if the constitution needed to be amended, it would be amended. Modi also mentioned the First Amendment of the Constitution.

Modi said that whenever democracy is discussed in the world, the state of emergency is mentioned. By imposing the Emergency, Indira preserved her power and turned the country into a prison.
