Devendra Singh Rana, the BJP MP from Jammu and Kashmir’s Nagrota parliamentary constituency, passed away late on Thursday night. Devendra Singh Rana (59) died in a hospital in Faridabad. Rana’s brother Union Minister Jitendra Singh came to his residence on this sad occasion. BJP spokesperson Sajid Yusuf said Rana was a prominent political figure in Jammu and Kashmir. His supporters, including the BJP, were shocked by his death.

“Can’t believe it”
On the death of Devendra Rana, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kavinder Gupta said, “It is very sad news to receive and I cannot believe that he left us like this.” Jammu suffered huge losses. He always talks about Jammu. It is natural to have mourning in the family.

Kavinder Gupta further said that he is our emerging leader and not only the BJP but the entire Jammu has suffered. Many such plans were thought of but now remain incomplete due to his departure.
Mehbooba Mufti expresses grief
People’s Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti also expressed grief over the death of Devendra Singh Rana. Devendra Singh Rana joined politics from the world of business. Nagrota seat is considered as his stronghold. There he was elected as a provincial councilor three times. In 2021, Devendra Singh Rana left North Carolina to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. Thereafter, the party gave him a ticket in the parliamentary elections to be held in 2024, and he once again showed his magic and won by a large margin.
