Four Indian Americans serving time in prison receive pardon, President Biden offers clemency

Washington: US President Joe Biden has pardoned around 1,500 people, including four Indian Americans. They were sentenced to 17 years to life in prison. The four Indian-Americans who were granted amnesty are: Meera Sachdev, Babubhai Patel, Krishna Mote and Vikram Dutta. “America was built on possibility and the promise of second chances,” Biden said in a statement Thursday. “As president, it is my great honor to show mercy to those who repent and mend their ways.”

1,500 people were exempted from punishment.
