In Begusarai, Bihar, the son of a former MLA became a victim of cyber kidnapping. After this, when the family members suspected something, they informed the police. After being in the clutches of cyber criminals for about 8 hours, the police found the son of the former MLA. Police say that the son of the former MLA was recovered from a hotel, where the cyber criminals had held him hostage through fear and threats.

According to the information, Suman Saurav, son of former Bahubali MLA Narendra Kumar Singh alias Bogo Singh of Matihani assembly constituency of Begusarai, runs a school. He was digitally kidnapped by cyber criminals on 13 September. When Suman did not reach home for lunch from school at 1 pm, his family members called him, but did not get any response. After this, around 5 pm, when the family members got suspicious, they immediately informed the police.

As soon as the information was received, the Begusarai police swung into action. The police team led by SP Manish tracked the phone location of Suman Saurav. After this, he was recovered from a hotel located at Har Har Mahadev Chowk at around 10 pm.

What was the method of digital kidnapping?

DSP Bhaskar Ranjan said that cyber criminals called Suman Saurav and told him that objectionable material was found in one of his couriers and he would be arrested. To scare him, the criminals also made him talk to people wearing police uniforms on video call. Suman was asked to sit alone at some place.

After this, Suman went to the hotel, where he kept working as per the instructions of the cyber criminals. During this time, he was forbidden to talk to anyone. After the information from the family, the police immediately started action. Under the leadership of SP, the police recovered Suman safely from the hotel and started investigating the whole case.

DSP Bhaskar Ranjan said that we had received information that the director of Udaan International School was missing. Investigation revealed that cyber criminals had held him digitally hostage. He was recovered safely after quick action by the police. Suman Saurav’s uncle Gopal Singh said that we had immediately informed the police. The police took swift action and Suman was found and brought back.
