Forest department employee dies in leopard attack, body dragged for 2 km

A leopard attacked and killed a 45-year-old outsourced employee of the forest department in Chhota Udaipur district of Gujarat. Regarding the incident, the official said that on Monday evening, the leopard suddenly attacked the watchman in the forest of Pavi Jetpur Range and killed him. After this, it dragged him about 2 km away from the incident spot.

According to the news agency, officials gave this information on Tuesday. Forest Officer (RFO) Vanraj Solanki said that Ganpatbhai Tetabhai (45), posted as a watchman, was dragged by a leopard into the Baria forest and his body was found on Tuesday. Tetabhai, a resident of Ambakhoot village in Pavi Jetpur taluka, was an outsourced employee of the forest department.

Ganpatbhai’s body was found on Tuesday afternoon

The RFO further said, when Tetabhai did not return home from duty, his family informed the forest department. After this, the forest department team reached the spot. Footprints, shoes and bag of the deceased were found there. Then after searching for about two kilometers, Ganpatbhai’s body was found on Tuesday afternoon. The leopard had bitten him on his back.
