Flowers showered from helicopter, 21 gun salute… PM Modi will present the vision of developed India on Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the nation in the 78th Independence Day celebrations from the historic Red Fort in Delhi today, August 15. He will hoist the national flag and give his traditional address, the theme of which has been ‘Developed India @ 2047’. Its objective is to take forward the government’s efforts towards transforming India into a developed nation by the centenary of independence in 2047.

About 6,000 special guests have been invited to promote public participation. People especially associated with initiatives like Atal Innovation Mission, volunteers of Mera Yuva Bharat, people from tribal communities and representatives of farmer organizations will also be present in the program.

It is being told that around 2,000 people wearing traditional attire from different states/union territories have also been invited for this function. Three thousand winners of different online competitions organized by the Defense Ministry in collaboration with MyGov and All India Radio will also be a part of this ceremony.

Defense Minister will welcome PM at Red Fort

On reaching the Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi will be welcomed by prominent personalities including the Defense Minister and the Defense Secretary. He will be welcomed by a guard of honor consisting of Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police personnel. The Prime Minister will inspect this guard, which will include coordinating soldiers and commanding officers.

21 gun salute will be given from field gun

The Prime Minister will proceed towards the ramparts to hoist the flag, when a 21-gun salute will be fired using the indigenous 105 mm Light Field Gun. This will be an important moment of national pride and celebration. The National Flag Guard will give the national salute when the Tricolor is hoisted, in which representatives of the Armed Forces and Delhi Police will participate.

Flowers will be showered by helicopters

As soon as the Prime Minister hoists the flag, flower petals will be showered from indigenous advanced light helicopters. This aerial display will be done by the wing commanders of the Indian Air Force. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi can present a roadmap for developing the country in the next decades.

NCC cadets will sing the national anthem

Along with the hoisting of the flag by the Prime Minister, the cadets of the National Cadet Corps present here will sing the national anthem, which is a symbol of national unity and pride. Cadets will also participate in an event that will highlight the ‘Mera Bharat’ logo, which will include customized tricolor kits. Apart from these, 500 volunteers of National Service Scheme will also play an active role.
