Two minor girls from Uttar Pradesh were murdered in their own house in Bangalore. Police suspect that the girls’ stepfather committed this crime. The girls’ mother divorced her first husband about 10 years ago, after which he settled in Dubai and she has been living in Bangalore for about three years.
On Saturday in Bengaluru, Shrishti (14) and Soni (16), both residents of Uttar Pradesh, were stabbed to death. The police suspect that the girls’ stepfather, Amit Mohan, who is a resident of Dehradun, committed the crime. He is absconding since the incident, which is increasing the police’s suspicion.
Mohan and the minor girls’ mother Anita have been married for about three years, but they often fight. Police also say that the stepfather is short-tempered and easily gets agitated over small matters. Anita is a resident of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh and the suspect Mohan is a resident of Dehradun. Anita divorced her first husband 10 years ago. Since then, the girls’ father has settled in Dubai. Anita has been living in Bangalore for three years and met Mohan, the prime suspect in the murder, on the Shaadi.com website and married him.
What did the girls’ mother say?
Mother Anita alleges that the reason for the murder could be that Mohan used to stop the girls from talking to boys. He did not want them to sit next to boys in schools. Anita, the mother of the girls, said, “When I came inside, I saw blood-soaked bodies. My daughters’ throats were slit. The reason for the murder was that he did not like them talking to boys. I used to tell him that they were young girls. I asked him that when he can talk to other women, why can’t the children talk to children of the opposite sex? He wanted the girls to sit separately from other boys.”
Stepfather was seen entering and exiting the house: Police
Bengaluru North-East DCP Sajith VJ said, we have checked the CCTV footage and he is the only person who can be seen entering and leaving the apartment. The reason for the murder could be their personal family matter. Mohan was suffering from anger issues. He used to get angry easily on small matters. However, the police have ruled out the property dispute angle.
