A case of rape has been registered against a man in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra for rape on the pretext of marriage. A woman from Mumbai has accused the accused of raping her. Not only this, a case has also been registered against two women for threatening the victim.

The police officer said that the incident came to light when the 25-year-old victim lodged a complaint at the Chiplun police station against the accused, who raped her by falsely promising marriage. He said that the case has been transferred to Nehru Nagar police station in central Mumbai with zero FIR.
According to the complainant woman, a common friend of her father was searching for a groom for his daughter in the year 2022. During the same time, the victim came in contact with accused Aditya Parab. After the meetings of both the families, the victim decided to marry Parab, who worked in a private company in Brazil, who returned to his home in India in August 2023.
After returning home, their marriage talks were resumed, but he did not make any promises to the victim and her family members citing various reasons. When the victim was at the accused’s house on July 5, he had physical relations with her. Not only this, the next day both of them went to Guhagar in Ratnagiri district, where they stayed in a resort. There also a physical relationship developed between them.
However, after returning to Mumbai suddenly the accused Parab started avoiding the victim. He said that she also tried to postpone the marriage citing her training and debt burden as reasons. The officer said that when the victim realized that she had been cheated, she approached the police and filed a rape complaint against the man. Now the police is taking further action in this matter.
