Uttar Pradesh News: A couple from Bareilly has accused each other of religious conversion. Both of them had married in an ashram a few days ago as per Hindu customs. But now both of them have complained about forced religious conversion in the police station. On which the police says that applications have been received from both the parties, action will be taken after investigation. The boy is a Hindu while the girl is a Muslim. Earlier the girl had accused of marrying after converting her religion, now the boy has also made the same allegation.
Let us tell you that Prem Shankar Gupta, a resident of Bareilly, has accused his alleged wife Hina Bi of forced conversion. While talking to the media, Prem Shankar said that Hina’s family forcibly converted him to Islam at gunpoint and made him read namaz. After converting Prem Shankar to Islam, his name was changed to Nihal Khan and he was also pressured to get circumcised. He was even threatened with death. Somehow he escaped and saved himself.
Prem Shankar said that his wife took him to Puranpur in Pilibhit and made him convert his religion. Even after marriage, she got him married. Whereas, earlier she (Hina) used to say that she will stay with him only as a Hindu. Hina and her family’s intentions are not right. They are trying to trap us forcibly. We both have been talking for two years. We are married too.
On the other hand, Hina alleges that she has been forced to accept Hinduism. The boy she loved had told her his name as Nihal Khan and said that they will marry after reaching the dargah. But when she reached Bareilly, the boy took her to an ashram and they got married there.
According to Prem Shankar, he was having an affair with a Muslim girl named Hina. Both of them worked together in a company in Uttarakhand. They first met there, then became friends, gradually grew closer and finally decided to get married. After this, Hina converted to Hinduism of her own free will and took seven vows with Prem Shankar at Pandit KK Shankhdhar’s ashram in Bareilly after purification and applying sindoor in her hairline.
Both of them got married on 11th July at August Muni Ashram. Hina changed her name to Priyanka Devi. Many videos of the wedding and many photos after the wedding have surfaced. In which both of them are looking very happy. People say that for the sake of love, Hina changed her religion and named herself Priyanka. Whereas, her lover Premshankar changed his name to Nihal Khan. But when Hina’s family insisted on getting Premshankar circumcised, he ran away and told the whole story to the police.
Prem Shankar has accused Hina and said that a few days after the marriage, on 18th August, she took me to a dargah in Pilibhit, saying that her father was unwell. There, her family members held me hostage and forced me to convert to Islam. During this time, some of Hina’s relatives were pressuring me to get circumcised, but I fled from there at night and somehow saved my life. Later, after reaching Bareilly, I gave a complaint letter to the police officials and pleaded for justice.
At present, the police officials have taken cognizance of the matter seriously. The Circle Officer said that a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl got married in the month of July. Then on August 17 and August 20, they gave complaint letters accusing each other of forced religious conversion. This entire case is being investigated. Necessary legal action will be taken after the investigation.
SSP Anurag Arya says that first a complaint came from the girl’s (Muslim) side. Now Prem Shankar’s side (Hindu) has lodged a complaint by making allegations. The allegations of both are being investigated.
