First face, now the question is settled… How is the BJP preparing its political pitch for Nitish Kumar?

Nitish Kumar and Samrat Chaudhry

After saving its bastions in Haryana and Maharashtra, the BJP has now started building its front in Bihar. The BJP and Nitish Kumar are gradually making political preparations for the Bihar elections. After deciding on the chief minister’s choice, the BJP is now quietly busy deciding on the issues in Bihar.

This is why the NDA is now leading on major issues like caste census. Rajnath Singh and Lalan Singh cornered the opposition on the issue of caste statistics in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

Nitish to be the face of Bihar

Janata Dal United president Nitish Kumar will also serve as the chief minister’s advocate this time. Bihar is the first state to declare the leader of its allied party as chief minister ahead of the elections despite the strong position of the BJP.

The BJP announced Nitish’s name only from those leaders who were considered strong contenders for the chief minister’s post.

Nitish Kumar has been the chief minister of Bihar for nearly 18 years. His party finished third in the 2020 elections. Despite this, only Nitish Kumar got the chief minister’s post.

Now try setting up the question

After deciding on the faces, now the BJP and Nitish Kumar’s party have decided on the issue. In a bid to eradicate casteism in Bihar, the BJP is attacking the demand for a caste census. During the debate on the Constitution in Parliament, Rajnath Singh asked the Congress to prepare a blueprint in this regard.

This is the first time that the government has shown a positive attitude towards the demand for caste census. Rajnath Singh even said during the debate that the government could even organize a debate on this.

Not only this, JDU government minister Lalan Singh also raised the demand for caste census against Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi. Singh said both leaders remained silent when the Indian Union was asked to pass a resolution on caste census.

Bihar is the first state in the country to release caste survey data. Now, going by these figures, Bihar is raising demands related to reservation and other shares.

Issues based on the caste survey and its data are said to be likely to dominate the Bihar elections.

Strategies to Empower Women

Apart from caste, the NDA is also trying to woo women voters in Bihar. Women have emerged as game-changers in the Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections. It is claimed that both state governments saw re-election due to the presence of women voters.

For the same reason, Bihar is also making efforts to empower women. Nitish Kumar himself is engaging Mahila Samvad Yatra to help women.

It is said that after receiving feedback from the Mahila Samvad Yatra, Nitish Kumar can make some big announcements. These include increasing the Mahila Samman amount and dropping interest in female volunteers.

Possibility of triangular race in Bihar

Bihar has a total of 243 assembly seats and 122 MLAs are needed to save the government. This time the NDA is competing with 5 parties. Apart from the BJP, JDU, RLMA, LJP (R), we have also joined the NDA alliance.

On the other hand, the Indian Alliance will also compete with the six parties. India includes Congress, RJD, MLA, CPI, CPM and VIP political parties.

Apart from this, Prashant Kishore’s party is busy triangulating the entire election. The PK Party will contest all 243 seats in Bihar alone.
