A strange case has come to light from Bihariganj in Madhepura. Here, the current Mukhiya of Sheikhpura Panchayat under the block area, Sunita Devi, married a young man from the same village. Due to this, a high voltage drama was witnessed at the young man’s house in Sheikhpura.
According to the information, Mukhiya Sunita Devi was having an affair with Naveen Kumar, 25-year-old son of Shashi Bhushan Mehta, a resident of Ward-10 of the village, for about two years. Both of them had disappeared from home several times before. Every time they would return after ten to fifteen days of running away from home. This time too, both of them fled from home about a week ago.
On August 30, the chief got married for the third time
On 30th August, both of them got married in front of a notary public with mutual consent in Udakishunganj. On Friday, when both of them returned, a crowd of villagers gathered at the young man’s house. People started protesting against this marriage. People said that the Mukhiya should immediately resign from his post.
The villagers demanded immediate resignation from the Mukhiya
The villagers say that they do not want such a representative who brings disrepute to the entire society. Dozens of women were adamant on throwing out the Mukhiya with sticks in their hands. They alleged that the Mukhiya had taken ten thousand rupees from them in the name of getting them Indira Awas Yojana. Return that money and immediately remove the Mukhiya from the post.
Police arrested the youth
On receiving the information, SHO Amit Ranjan and CO Avinash Kumar reached the spot with the force. After a lot of effort, the people were pacified by convincing them. The youth Naveen Kumar Mehta was arrested.
The chief has already had two marriages
In this case, the Mukhiya’s mother, Upendra Rishidev’s wife Jangli Devi told that her daughter was married to a youth of the same caste in Bela Pemo of Purnia district in 2013. After a few days, she came to her maternal home and never returned. She again fell in love with Sanjay Sah, son of Ramdhin Sah of Sheikhpura village and ran away from home and married him in court in 2014.
Sunita Kumari has two children from her second marriage
The mother said that her married life is going on happily. She has two sons Krishna Kumar, 7 years old and Prem Kumar, 4 years old. She said that after winning the Mukhiya election this time, Sunita Devi came in contact with Ward Secretary Naveen Kumar of Ward-8. During this time, both of them started having a love affair. A week ago, she left her husband and a child and ran away with her lover.
Panchayat head is there for two and half years
Even after people tried to convince her, she did not listen to anyone. Due to this incident, there is a lot of anger among the villagers of Sheikhpura Panchayat. People said that for the last two and a half years, almost no development work has been done in the Panchayat. On top of that, development has come to a standstill due to such work. Also, it is having a very bad impact on the society.
The chief accused her husband of assault
People have demanded that the Mukhiya be removed from his post. The villagers said that either the Mukhiya should resign or the department should take appropriate action and remove him from his post. Mukhiya Sunita Devi said that my husband used to beat me repeatedly. I used to be tortured and thrown out of the house. That is why I have married this young man of my own free will.
Now I will live with him. Meanwhile, the Mukhiya’s former husband Sanjay Kumar Sah said that I have never beaten my wife. But there used to be arguments when I refused to talk to that boy. She did not cooperate in the development work of the Panchayat either. How did she marry again without divorce? This is also a big question. If her call details are taken out, everything will become clear. Due to this act of hers, development work in the entire Panchayat was also obstructed.
