Firecrackers cannot be set off in Delhi this year either, with a total ban till January 1

The national capital Delhi has imposed a complete ban on setting off firecrackers. The Delhi government has issued a notification regarding a ban on setting off firecrackers. According to the notification, the manufacture, storage, sale and setting off of firecrackers are prohibited in Delhi from October 14 to January 1. Let us tell you that this order has been issued to prevent deterioration of air quality during Diwali.

Let us tell you that the AQI in Delhi NCR is expected to become severe due to Diwali celebrations and stubble burning in northern Indian states in the first week of November.

Air quality deteriorates

In fact, Delhi’s air started deteriorating from October onwards. There are two reasons for this. First, starting in October, the weather starts to change. Temperatures drop and wind speeds are affected. Secondly, during this season, farmers in states surrounding Delhi also start burning stubble. This further increases pollution. Firecrackers during Diwali can make the situation worse.
