Filming of Cillian Murphy’s ‘Apex’ wraps up

Netflix India broke the news on Instagram, quoting the iconic Peaky Blinders when announcing the completion of filming. Along with the update, they also released a behind-the-scenes photo starring Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan to further the hype.

Directed by Tom Harper, who directed many episodes of the original series, the film will continue the story of the Shelby family on the seedy, lawless streets of Birmingham in the 1900s. While the plot remains under wraps, Variety describes it as an “epic continuation” of the beloved gangster saga. With production on the movie starting in September, fans are eagerly awaiting more details on how Cillian Murphy will reprise her role as the formidable Tommy Shelby.

Founder of Steven Knight Peaky Blinders series, wrote the script and is producing the film with Murphy, Karin Mandabach and Guy Healy. Murphy recently won an Academy Award for his performance in the film OppenheimerSaying that the film was “made for the fans,” it shows how much the sequel means to him and the show’s loyal viewers.

The sixth season of the show is set to air in 2022, and now that the movie is about to be released, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next chapter of the show.
