‘Fight and wrestling will always remain inside me…’, Vinesh Phogat’s emotional post

Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has released an emotional post. He expressed his sorrow and struggle through his post. Vinesh’s weight had increased by 100 grams due to which she could not fight in the final for gold. Phogat has mentioned many things in the post while mentioning his journey, his uncertain future and the possible target for 2032. Vinesh thanked and expressed her gratitude to all those who played an important role in her journey to Paris Olympics 2024.

In her post, Vinesh recalled her early dreams, her father’s hopes and her mother’s struggles. She credited her husband Somveer for supporting her through every ups and downs.

The female wrestler wrote in the last part of the post, ‘Maybe under different circumstances, I will be able to see myself playing till 2032, because fighting and wrestling will always be there in me. I can’t predict what the future holds for me and what lies ahead in this journey, but I am sure that I will always keep fighting for what I believe in and what is right.

On Wednesday, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) announced that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) had rejected Vinesh Phogat’s appeal. After this decision, his hopes of silver medal were also shattered.

On the morning of August 7, just before her historic gold medal match against Sarah Ann Hildebrandt, she was weighed 100 grams overweight. After this he was declared ineligible. Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian female wrestler to reach the Olympic final. According to UWW rules, any wrestler who fails to measure weight during any phase of the competition is immediately disqualified, and all of his previous wins are voided.
