It is being told that Fraud in mass marriage scheme A woman was also involved in doing this. She used to work as a broker. She would prepare girls/women for fake marriage and make them sit in the pavilion. The money/goods would disappear after receiving them. About 34 cases have come to light where mothers of two children each were given the benefit of the Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme. This entire matter is related to Baldirai and Kudwar blocks of Sultanpur district.

The investigation team reached the village

Last Tuesday, among the officers of the investigation team, DPRO Abhishek Shukla, District Training Officer Dr. Santosh Gupta, District Disability Officer Mudit Srivastava etc. reached Mahuli village. Here he interrogated the villagers. Information was gathered by interrogating the head representative also. Then set out to verify the women.

The villagers told this story

At the same time, the villagers told that a woman named Kanchan works as a broker. Because, Kanchan has a lot of influence in the social welfare office. She remains in direct contact with the officials there. She used to take women from nearby villages and her relatives to mass weddings. She lures women from poor, backward and Dalit classes with money and goods and makes them brides.

It is noteworthy that Haliyapur resident social worker Prabhat Singh has exposed this entire matter. He told that on March 4, a wedding was taking place at Baldirai Block, there were 69 couples there. When the list was asked from ADO Social Welfare, it was said that 85 couples were married. But the question was postponed on the issue of showing the video. When details were sought from public information, the fraud was revealed.

Fake marriage was organized on 11-12 July

In fact, on July 11, 81 couples got married in Baldirai development block and on July 12, dozens of couples got married in Kudwar block under the Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme. It is alleged that in both the places, government money was misappropriated in this program on a large scale.

Sarita and Shanti of Mahuli village of Baldirai are sister-in-laws. Sarita got married to Raju about eight years ago, she also has two sons. The elder son is five years old and the younger one is about seven months old. On July 12, Sarita was married to her own husband in Kudwar.

Shanti, daughter of a person named Bhagelu, was also married on the same day, whereas in reality she had been married five years earlier in Umra village, and she also had a one-year-old son. Apart from this, there are many women who were married under this mass marriage program whereas in reality they are already married and are mothers of many children.

Twenty-four marriages were conducted in Mahuli Gram Panchayat on 11th and 12th July while ten marriages were conducted in Bhakhri, but in the list of ten beneficiaries of Bhakhri on the government website, there are four-five women from Mahuli. Bhakhri head representative Suraj Vaish and Mahuli head representative Shiv Singh confirmed this and said that earlier the secretary used to take information from us for its verification, but this time it has not happened.

Whereas, as per the rules, the application received on the portal is sent to the ADO (Social Welfare) Block Development Officer, after getting it verified by the BDO Village Secretary, they report online, but Rahul Yadav says that no verification has been done by us. On the orders of DM, a recommendation has been made to the government through CDO for the delay.
