HDFC bank manager and cashier died last night when their XUV700 drowned in the rainwater filled under the Old Faridabad Railway Under Bridge in Faridabad. Aditya, a bank employee working with the deceased, told that Viraj Dwivedi was working as a cashier in HDFC’s branch in Sector-31, Gurugram and Punyashreya Sharma was the manager of the bank. He was also the president of the bank union.

Aditya told that it had rained for many days. Due to this, Viraj Dwivedi was coming to drop him in the bank manager’s XUV700 car. Bank manager Sharma lived in Omaxe City in Greater Faridabad, where Viraj Dwivedi had to stay at night and in the morning he had to leave for Delhi for some work, but as soon as he came near the Old Faridabad railway under bridge, there was a lot of water filled under it, where no barricading was installed.

Car got stuck in water, both died due to water filling

Viraj lived in Gurugram, due to which he did not realize that there was so much water under the Old Faridabad Railway Under Bridge that his car would drown in the water. Viraj tried to take the car out of this water but the car stopped due to excess water and got locked. The car got filled with water due to which he died a painful death. Aditya told that around 11:30 pm he received a call from the bank manager’s wife.

The manager’s wife informed him about his phone being switched off, after which they called the bank manager and Viraj Dwivedi, but both their phones were switched off. Due to this, his wife left from Faridabad and they left from Gurgaon to search for him. After reaching Faridabad, they saw the police, after which when they asked the police, they told them that a car was stuck in the water filled underpass, due to which two people died in it.

Police rejected the claim of no barricading

Aditya said that if there was police barricading, then perhaps they would not have tried to take the car under the railway under bridge and this big accident would not have happened to them. On the other hand, in this case, Sub Inspector Rajesh said that the incident happened around 11:30 pm last night. There were police barricading and caution boards near the railway under bridge. The police had forbidden them to go from the back and this route, but they were forcibly going through the same route, due to which their car got stuck in the water and both of them died due to getting stuck inside the car as the car drowned in the water. At present, the bodies of both the deceased have been kept in the mortuary of Badshah Khan Civil Hospital for post-mortem and further legal action is being taken by the police.
