India Today Conclave 2024 has begun. On the first day of the two-day conclave, RSS’s all-India publicity chief Sunil Ambekar described the statement made by BJP president JP Nadda during the Lok Sabha elections as a family matter.

In fact, Nadda made this comment when he was asked how the presence of RSS has changed from the days of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to now. Nadda had said, “In the beginning we were less capable and smaller and we needed the RSS. Today we have grown up and we are capable. The BJP manages itself. That is the difference.”

Addressing an India Today conclave on Wednesday, RSS leader Sunil Ambedkar said it was a family matter and dismissed reports of discord between the outfit and the BJP. “We solve family problems like family problems. We don’t discuss such issues in a public forum,” he said with a smile.

On the issue of women’s participation in the Sangh program and lack of women in senior leadership, he said the work of the Sangh was mainly done through shakas on the ground. That’s why we formed the Sangh in 1925. Rashtriya Sevika Samiti was established in 1936. So no matter what branch is set up, the way of working is different. Everything that involves nation-building, every issue that involves the country, determines women’s participation. The structure of the Sanger branch includes males. Women join committees.

How do you identify those who see the RSS as a stepping stone into government? In this regard, Sunil Ambedkar said that the Sangh was working on the ground. Sanger’s training was very difficult. Go to the fields every day. It’s very hard work. There are many people who want to do good things in society. There will be very few people willing to wander. I think these people joined the Sangh and started doing good work. Some people are busy with other jobs. We don’t care about this. Our work has become hectic.
