Ghee sales surged in the market in view of Diwali and at the same time, some people stopped selling adulterated ghee and Aaj Tak conducted a sting operation in Hathras on Friday after the ghee adulteration incident came to light. , Uttar Pradesh ghee warehouses were raided. The Hathras government also ordered the formation of a four-member committee to look into the matter.

Hathras SP Nipun Aggarwal said police were conducting raids and efforts were being made to arrest the accused. We will take samples of ghee for testing. A meeting will be held with the magistrate for further action.

Aaj Tak’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) visited the ghee manufacturing hub of Hathras and revealed some surprising facts about the ghee sold in the market.

The team running the operation decided that we would approach the ghee manufacturers as shop owners. We did the same and through the chain system, the Aaj Tak team reached out to the ghee producers in Hathras. We said we were going to buy ghee in bulk. During the initial conversation, he assured us that he could package the ghee in duplicate cartons of famous brands. During this time, we learned how ghee was adulterated, packaged in branded containers and sold to unknown customers across the country.
