The parents of the trainee doctor who was the victim of the Kolkata rape-murder case have made shocking claims. The family said that someone had sent the accused Sanjay Roy to kill their daughter. Kolkata Police arrested Sanjay Roy on 10 August. A day before this, the half-naked body of the trainee doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Hospital. Later, the post-mortem revealed that she was raped and then murdered.
“Fake news is not tolerated…”
In an exclusive interview with Aaj Tak Bangla, the mother of the deceased said, “Our daughter was murdered because she had come to know about ‘some dark secrets’.”
She further says that someone had sent Sanjay to kill our daughter. We cannot tolerate fake news about our daughter on social media. When such incidents were happening with my daughter, she must have cried for me (mother).
The mother of the deceased claimed that Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, did not even call her and apologize after the incident. My daughter was afraid that Dr. Sandeep Ghosh would fail her in the MD exam. My daughter’s last words were, ‘My food has arrived.'”

‘I wanted to get medicine for my father…’
The victim’s mother further said that on the day she was raped and murdered, she wanted to get medicine for her father and then have dinner. She said, “West Bengal Governor C.V. Anand Bose came to their house and assured them of justice and said that he would stand with the family.”
Criticising the police and RG Kar hospital authorities for asking him to wait to see his daughter’s body, he said, “They were hiding something and did not show our daughter’s body. Why did it take them four hours to show our daughter’s face? What were they hiding? They were in a hurry to dispose of the body.”

He said that the trainee doctor wanted to do Doctorate of Medicine after MD and had brought books to prepare for DM. Recalling her dedication to the job, the deceased’s mother said, “She used to study even after 36 hours of duty and was doing four online courses. During the Corona epidemic, she used to be on duty for four consecutive days in a municipal hospital.”
‘Those who are protesting are our children…’
The mother of the deceased further says that she used to tell us that she will get a gold medal but now I have lost my daughter. Now those who are protesting are all my children. She further said, “She wanted to give Rs 5 lakh to her father to bear the expenses of her marriage. Her laptop and mobile phone are now with the CBI. We want justice for her.”
Let us tell you that other protesters including doctors are protesting and marching against this matter and are demanding strict action against the culprits and strict laws to deal with such crimes.
