The boy’s father, Danilo Primola, told the Daily Mail: “Pierre was discussed in court and the Black Pharaoh was also mentioned. “But before naming our son, we did research and we learned that Piierre was a Nubian warrior who fought against Egypt and won, becoming the first Black Pharaoh.

According to the couple, they decided to name their son in honor of Pierre because it was important to maintain a connection to their African roots. “Restoring African names is a powerful way to tell new stories about black history,” said Danilo Primola. “We have the power to educate our children with this power, this culture and the way they are represented in their name.”

The court said in its ruling that the pronunciation of Pharaoh’s name is similar to the Portuguese word “pli”, which is a ballet step, according to the news portal. The Minas Gerais state court said that with such a name, the child may face bullying in the future. Danilo Primoola said the court did not allow our child to have this name, but changing the name will not stop the bullying.
