Gautam Adani
The political situation in the United States has intensified over the allegations against Gautam Adani. Even today there is a huge uproar in Parliament over this issue. Opposition leaders have continued to demand a parliamentary inquiry into Adani’s case. Congress has continued to demand Adani’s arrest. Congress has asked why the Modi government and the investigative agencies turned into a snake amid such serious accusations against Adani.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Srinet said at a press conference that if these allegations were made against anyone else, agencies and agencies like ED, CBI, SEBI would have investigated these sensational revelations, but because of Adani, everyone is trapped Trouble. Don’t forget to discuss this issue in Parliament, their names were not even taken down. The Congress spokesperson further said that embattled on all sides, Adani is safe only in India because here, no one can do anything against him because of Narendra Modi. Investigating agencies acted as silent spectators, otherwise he would have been arrested on these charges by now.
Congress made this request to Adani
Congress said that through this platform, we demand the arrest of Adani, who is involved in corruption and bribery worth billions of rupees. The allegations against Adani should be discussed in detail in the House of Representatives. Our investigative agencies and agencies like SEBI should investigate these allegations impartially. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, government ministers and MPs should stop shamelessly defending Adani. Congress said the Adani Group’s arguments did not wash away the serious allegations made by U.S. agencies and the Justice Department on the ground, and that Indian agencies were not without investigations based on the U.S. Department of Justice’s allegations.
Adani’s system sends wrong signal
Congress said that during the Modi government, the CBI investigated Brazilian shipbuilding company Embraer in 2016 based on allegations from the U.S. Department of Justice. During the Modi government’s tenure, in 2018, the CBI had investigated the US company Louis Berger on bribery charges worth crores of rupees. Congress said Adani’s system malfunctioned this morning and sent out some false signals. This is nothing more than their frustration and a failed attempt to avoid serious charges.
- A senior lawyer dressed as a lawyer to defend Adani told reporters early in the morning that there was no name of Adani or his nephew in counts 1 and 5 of the US court documents. He said the first count, a violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), did not mention Adani by name. They just cleverly forgot to mention that the US FCPA does not apply to any foreign nationals, how come Adani’s name appears!
- But the name Azure Power is there, it’s an American company and a partner of Adani. There is no doubt that the U.S. Department of Justice has produced evidence of Adani’s guilt
- Those who were misled do not appear to have read the grand jury indictment – which clearly states that Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani and others hatched a scheme to pay, offer and promise bribes in India, India The government will force bribes in return. The power company signed a power purchase agreement with central PSU SECI (paragraph 47).
- It also alleges that he paid approximately 20.29 billion rupees (approximately $265 million) in bribes to Indian government officials to get the state’s power distribution company to implement the PSA, promising to pay more bribes (para. 49).
- In addition to this, corruption allegations have been leveled at the highest levels. Sagar Adani and Vineet Jain are also said to have unfairly influenced the allocation process of SECI 2.3 GW PPA (para 70).
- Remember SECI means Solar Energy Corporation of India and is a public sector company under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
