Jal Jeevan Mission Honors Ceremony
Union Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh commended 74 officials and employees for their outstanding work in Jal Jeevan Mission. These officials played an important role in providing piped water connection to every house in the village. During this time, Union Minister Jal Shakti appealed to everyone to provide piped water connection to every household in the village. He said the work should be completed before the 2027 parliamentary elections. No village or house in the state should be without piped water connection by 2027.
He said that it is my dream to let every household have running water, and this dream needs all of you to realize it. During this program, Minister of State for Jal Shakti Ramkesh Nishad, Namami Gange and Additional Chief Secretary of Rural Water Supply Department Anurag Srivastava, State Information Commissioner PN Dwivedi, General Manager of Rural Water Supply Department Dr. Rajshekhar, Executive Director Brijraj Singh Yadav and a large number of officials from across the state and staff attended the meeting.
Working under the guidance of Modi Yogi
Union Minister Jal Shakti said that when he took over the ministry in 2022, Uttar Pradesh was at the bottom. But due to the efficiency of officials and employees, Uttar Pradesh today has emerged as the state with the most piped water connections in the country. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is leading the way in providing piped water connections.
The tap water connection rate reaches 86%
Minister Jal Shakti said that the entire team of Jal Jeevan Mission works like a family and has provided piped water connections to more than 20 million houses in the state. As of now, 86% of houses have installed water pipes. We must work towards the goal of increasing this number to 100% as soon as possible. During the programme, Minister of State Jal Shakti Ramkesh Nishad said that previously water was brought to Bundelkhand through trains. Nowadays, every household has water connection through tap. The lives of local people have improved as a result.
Connect to every home at low cost
During the event, Namami Gange and Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Water Supply Department Anurag Srivastava listed the achievements of UP in Jal Jeevan Mission. He said besides providing the highest number of connections, Uttar Pradesh is also the state in the country that provides door-to-door tap connections at the lowest cost. Rural Water Supply Department General Manager Dr Rajashekhar said besides providing connectivity, making the project solar-based will save crores of rupees in electricity bills every year.
During the program, State Information Commissioner PN Dwivedi said that this is the first government department to recognize employees for their outstanding work. Other departments should also learn from this initiative and do a good job in motivating cadres and employees.

Some award-winning leaders and employees also shared their experiences. The representative of the award-winning executive agency said that we have jobs in other states but UP has a safe environment. He has nowhere to go. Here, government agencies and private institutions work together like a family to achieve this goal.
