The issue of blackbuck hunting has come into focus again since 1998 when gang boss Lawrence Bishnoi threatened to kill Salman Khan. Lawrence asked Salman that if he apologized to the Bishnoi community, then he would be spared.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s cousin Ramesh Bishnoi has spoken in detail about the Black Buck controversy related to Salman Khan. He revealed that the superstar came to his community with a checkbook. He further stated that the entire community supports Lawrence in this matter. Lawrence’s brother Ramesh demanded an apology from Salman Khan in an interview with New Delhi TV. According to him, the actor’s family is playing on the religious sentiments of the Bishnoi community. So if the actors don’t listen to them, then the law takes its course.
Bishnoi community angry at Salman
Ramesh further said that his community loves wildlife and trees. He said 363 of his ancestors sacrificed their lives to save the trees. He further said, “When Salman Khan killed the Black Buck, every Bishnoi’s blood boiled.” He further said that he has left the decision to the courts. But if society is being laughed at, then society’s anger is justified. “Today, the entire Bishnoi community stands with Lawrence in this matter,” Ramesh Bishnoi stressed.
Salman offered money
Ramesh further said that Salman’s father, writer Salim Khan, claimed that Lawrence did all this for money. Clarifying the statement, he said, “I would like to remind them that his son (Salman Khan) brought a check book in front of the community and asked them to fill in the numbers in it and take it away. If We crave money and we will take it immediately.
Ramesh Bishnoi said that Salman was found guilty in the Black Bakr case and was sentenced to 5 years in prison. Lawrence, however, was not proven guilty of any crime. He said he would only be considered a criminal if proven guilty in a court of law.
