Cases of negligence in the construction and repair of roads keep coming up frequently across the country. A video of the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway in Alwar went viral on social media, in which a car running on the expressway is seen jumping in the air due to flaws in the road. After the video surfaced, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways took action and dismissed the engineer and imposed a fine of Rs 50 lakh on the contractor.

In this case, NHAI said that as per the instructions of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, the matter has been investigated and strict action has been taken against the responsible officers/agencies.

NHAI said that a fine of Rs 50 lakh has been imposed on the contractor for not removing the defects in time. Also, the team leader-cum-resident engineer of the authority engineer has been dismissed for not taking proper care of the construction work and negligence in his work. Apart from this, the concerned site engineer has also been terminated.

A show cause notice has been issued to the concerned PD and Manager (Tech) for the deficiencies. When the Ministry of Road and Transport investigated the video uploaded on the social media platform (Instagram), it was found that the video is of Delhi-Vadodara Expressway.

Let us tell you that the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway in Alwar is also called the Super Expressway. Vehicles run at a speed of 120 km per hour on this. The highest number of road accidents occur on the expressway in Alwar and Dausa areas of Rajasthan. The main reason for this is the unevenness of the road, poor balance and potholes on the expressway. Fine gravel is also spread on the expressway at many places. Water has accumulated at many places and the road has caved in.

IIT did the investigation
Some time ago, in view of the increasing number of accidents on the expressway, the IIT had investigated the causes of accidents. On the other hand, NHAI also started the online challan process to control the speed of vehicles. People are driving vehicles at a speed of 280 km per hour on the expressway, while the maximum limit on the expressway is 120 km per hour.

Action has now been taken on the viral video on the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway. This incident is being reported from the Alwar area. In this, the speeding car suddenly jumped into the air from the rear due to the road’s imbalance and kept jumping in the air for some time.

What did NHAI officials say?
PD PK Kaushik of Sohna area of ​​Delhi Mumbai Expressway said that potholes are formed due to rain. As soon as information about potholes is received, the potholes are repaired immediately. It is raining continuously in Alwar area. The work of repairing the potholes is going on.
