Officials said an encounter took place in Udampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday after the security forces established contact with three militants.
“During a search operation by police and other security forces, contact with militants was established in village Jafar in Ramnagar police station area of Udampur,” the Udhampur police said on X.

Police and security forces have monitored militants going from one region to another after three encounters for the last 17 days, since the operation started on 24 March in the sannyasi area of Kathua district.
On March 27, two militants and four policemen were killed in an encounter in the area.
