A terrorist was killed during a joint operation of Sopore Police and 32 Rashtriya Rifles (32 RR) in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The encounter took place when terrorists opened fire on a patrol party of local police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
A terrorist was also killed on 14 August
After the firing, security forces cordoned off the entire area and a search operation is being carried out to trace the remaining terrorists. This encounter in Rafiabad has taken place 10 days after the incident when an army officer was martyred in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on August 14. In that encounter too, security forces had killed a terrorist.
The martyred officer, Captain Deepak Singh, belonged to the Army’s Corps of Signals and was on deputation with 48 Rashtriya Rifles (RR). He attained martyrdom during that operation.
