Elon Musk recently appeared at a White House press conference, bringing along his 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii. While Musk spoke about his work for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), his son stole the show during the event. The playful moment in Donald Trump’s Oval Office quickly went viral on social media. However, Elon Musk’s former partner and the mother of X Æ A-Xii, wasn’t too happy about it.
Grimes, a well-known musician and record producer, shared her thoughts on microblogging site X (formerly Twitter). “He should not be in public like this,” she wrote, adding, “I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
Elon Musk and Grimes (born Claire Boucher) were never officially married but were in a high-profile relationship. They began dating in 2018 and were together for several years before splitting in 2022. During their time together, they welcomed three children: X Æ A-Xii (aka Lil X) and Tau Techno Mechanicus (2), and daughter Exa Dark Sideræl (3).
While neither of them publicly provided a detailed explanation of their separation, they continue to co-parent their three children and seem to maintain a respectful relationship. Grimes once referred to Musk as her “best friend” even after their split.
In January this year, she praised Musk’s gaming skills. In an X post, Grimes said that “Just for my personal pride, I would like to state that the father of my children was the first american druid in diablo to clear abattoir of zir and ended that season as best in the USA”. She further added “He was also ranking in Polytopia, and beat Felix himself at the game. I did observe these things with my own eyes. There are other witnesses who can verify this. That is all.”
