Musk shared this video on Friday, which is a deepfake version of the recent campaign video released by Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris is now the presidential candidate after US President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential election race.
What is the whole matter?
Actually, the account that first posted this fake video had put a disclaimer on it saying Kamala Harris Campaign Ad PARODY. Because of this disclaimer, the video does not violate X’s policy, but this content does not appear in Musk’s repost.

Only this video is visible in what Musk posted. On this Musk wrote with a laughing emoji, ‘This is amazing.’ Only time will tell whether any action is taken against Musk regarding this post, but questions definitely arise on the role of AI in elections.
How can misuse of AI affect elections?
This is a recent example of how AI can influence an election. We have seen deepfake videos of special people on many occasions. Even though they are made for fun and entertainment, these videos can mislead voters during elections.
