SP MP Awadhesh Prasad also took on the BJP government over the custodial death of a person in Lucknow. He said: “The number of deaths in custody is the highest during the tenure of the BJP government.” The death was caused by the police and the government is also responsible. At the same time, Awadesh Prasad expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and said that the government should provide at least Rs 50 lakh compensation to the family of the deceased. He also said that such incidents reflected the serious law and order situation in the state and the government should take strict action against it as soon as possible.
