Eid and Milad Festival 2024: Today is a very special day for Muslims. Today is Eid al-Fitr. It is also known as Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi or Eid-e-Milad. This day celebrates the birth of Prophet Muhammad, who is considered to be the last prophet of Islam. This festival is celebrated on the 12th of Rabi al-Awal, the third month of the Islamic calendar. On this day, Muslims visit mosques to commemorate the message of Prophet Muhammad and his contribution to humanity. This special day motivates Muslims to engage in social service and encourages them to help the poor and needy.

The Prophet Muhammad was born in the Arabian desert city of Mecca in 570 AD. The Prophet’s father died before he was born. When he was 6 years old, his mother also died. After his mother’s death, the Prophet Muhammad began to live with his uncle Abu Talib and grandfather Abu Muttalib. His father’s name was Abdullah and his mother’s name was Bibi Amina.

What does Islam say about the picture of the Prophet?
In this context, a question often comes to mind: why are there no pictures of the Prophet Muhammad found in Islam? The reason for not showing pictures or depictions of the Prophet Muhammad in Islam is related to religious and spiritual principles. This is mainly based on two aspects.

1. Stay away from idolatry
Islam is against idolatry. According to Islamic teachings, making an image or statue of the Prophet and worshipping him or giving him a special status is considered to be against the concept of Islamic monotheism (Tawheed). If experts are to be believed, the Quran, Chapter 42, Verse 42, says that Allah created the earth and the heavens. So how can one capture Allah in a photograph? This is why pictures or statues of the Prophet are not found in Islam.

2. Invisibility and attention
Islam believes that it is not right for humans to make any images or statues of the Prophet Muhammad. It is right to remember the writings and teachings of the Prophet. Allah can be better worshipped through invisibility and meditation.
